- It isn't synthetic, but some friends of mine recently installed some bamboo flooring. It might be waterproof. It looks similar to hardwood flooring, coming in 2-3" wide strips. No financial interest.

- A bit more than that, I'm afraid. I think it was about $6-7 or so, but installation (yes, I paid someone else to do it) was very quick - read: cheap. There is up to date pricing at the site I posted
