Hi Ed, Question though: if it's the rear axle why does the car want to go at some point when I'm pushing the clutch pedal in? Maybe traction is the wrong word. -Scott ________________________________

I had a similar thing happen on a MKII jag. Clutch was holding, but would not disengage. Pressure plate broke up into several pieces. Peter

Does sound like a half-shaft. With the car 'in gear' but no traction have a quick squint underneath and see of the prop-shaft is turning. If it is the problem is in the axle, if not then in the clutc
