Anyone know the metric thread size of the head bolts on a U-20? I want to chase the holes after boiling. Thanks Steve Harvey

The metric size is not metric. The head bolt threads on the U and R engines is 7/16-14 NC. Sometimes it is good to take a headbolt and cut a groove or two in it and use it to clean the threads. Stan

Stan... I remember the first time I came across the head bolt pitch wondering "what an odd size!!!". :) Head bolts are 7/16-14. Connecting rod bolts are 7/16-20, btw. Tom ____________________________

What's interesting about all this is that the U20 Head Bolt uses a 10mm Allen on the opposite end. I don't know how many of these head bolts I've seen where someone, drawing the conclusion that both
