Un-torque (just barely break each nut free in order they were torqued), then gradually back each off slightly. Re-tighten in proper sequence in gradual increments (5 - 10 ft lb). Reason for backing

You have no need to soak a head gasket , Also no need for glue or sealer, Just put it on correctly, They are usually marked top and or front, And place the head on gently, then torque to proper specs
