- OK so call me ignorant, but what is the difference between a "Payen" brand head gasket set and a "normal" aftermarket head gasket set?? I need a head gasket set to complete the wedding present engine

- Difference between Payen and the aftermarket gasket: About 18 bucks Not having to pull the head again after the cheapo gasket blows: priceless APT recommends the Payen. That's good enough for me. Ri

- Well I just replaced my leaky "aftermarket" headgasket. The head went on in April and has been leaking ever since. I am now running a Payen brand head gasket and it leaks no more. -- Frank Clarici To

- The best head gaskets are the turbo type with a fire ring in the top ridge. Buy it when rebuilding and have the machine shop prep the block. Works up to 14 to 1 compression. Jon Stamps Racing carries
