On my headers (1970 GT6+) where the threes go into ones...the DPO welded the seams, but only on the side facing away from the block. So, in back the seam is open (noise, exhaust leak). He also welded

I would cut it somewhere convenient (ie, with lots of room to swing a wrench / saw), and then weld on a flared compression fitting. Then bolt it back together. Nope. This stuff makes a mess and usual
