I got a set of steel headers from Ted Schumacher in 1992, wrapped them right away, and they have lasted for mor than 11 years. Of course, I probably dont go fast enough to get them hot. They do seem

That is very interesting, as we sure have not had that luck. Wrapped header deterioration is particularly disturbing for the Thunder Bolt, which has a custom made header (costly to reproduce). Bill

I have tried wrapping and not wrapping header pipes using two different sources of pipes. In each case, the pipes failed that had the header wrap on them. No problems with the ones that went without.
