The thing with the copper gaskets is that the mounting surfaces must be as true and flat as possible. With the fiber gaskets the condition of the surface isn't quite as critical because there is some

I recently installed a copper gasket in my Midget. Well,... I don't believe it's one thick piece of copper or anything, It looked and felt more like thin copper sheets on both sides of a fiber gasket

My point was that the Copper gasket was more sensitive to the conditions in which it is installed. I've had one on my '75 B since 1992, and it's still fine. I've seen them installed on engines where
