What is the size thread on the base of the heater control valve? I want to go from there to a 1/2" heater hose to the top radiator hose. Eliminate the heater core and control valve during the summer.

It is a standard pipe thread. I'm afraid if I try to remember the exact size I'll get it wrong. Just take the mounting bit to the hardware store and you'll be able to fit an iron or copper pipe nippl

When I removed the heater box from my '69 Sprite, 1275, (to refurbish and maybe never replace) I just ran the hose from the input side to the fitting on the head. Does it make a difference? Since it

I also am considering filling the space between the wall in the engine compartment(around the bell housing) and the similar wall in the cabin with foam insulation to cut down on heat and noise. bill
