First, I can see putting Helium in. I don't think it would make a big difference. But, while you are pumping the Helium in, how do you let the air that is already present in the tire out? Second, it

What's so wrong with the NOS air I have in my spare tire? If it was good enough for Donald Healey in November 1959, it must be good enough now. Of course, the rubber is another story. Which is why I

If I remember my college physics, PV=nRT with no provision for different gases. This means that Nitrogen will change pressure WRT temperature just as much as air. If I had to guess, I'd say the ratio

Charles and Boyles gas laws say that the composition of the gas doesn't matter.....provided it's pure gas....throw a little water vapor in and the bets are off. One of the reasons nitrogen is used in

Water vapor is indeed the main reason to NOT use compressed air in tires for critical use. I can only speak from my racing experience, but when we set our tire pressures, it is only a starting point

FVee weight is close to your sports racer at 825 Lbs. Do you run those low pressures for hillclimbs and the longer vintage races? I'm sure that is what feels best, but maybe it's because of the tread
