I have never seen that bolt from an Alpine transmission. The smallest that I have seen are 1/4-20 x 1/2". They didn't have that shoulder on them. Maybe from the Zenith carb? I don't know where its fr

Oh Ron! I HATE it when that (leftover bolt) thing happens. I can't pinpoint the source, but all of the Rootes bolts I have on mine are grade 5 (three marks). This would especially be true in a trans.

I would suggest it is from a cover .. Thats about the size of oil pan and side cover bolts. nothing on the inside that I know of. Cheers Chuck
