My gut is a slow opening with fully open at the stated temp, Scary...Probably because of all those pills you are talking..I'd hate to be around when it "fully opens"

The specified temp of a thermostat is Start To Open. There is no standard or expected time to be fully open since there are so many variables. Rick

Actually I prefer to begin a pass with an open thermostat regardless of how much preheating I have done. Also oil temp of at least 150 degrees, preferably 180. If you run steel rods like most of us,
