- My Mk1a has a hole about the size of a dime on the top of the fire wall under each corner of the hood. 1 near the VIN plate and the other in the opposite corner. Are these holes original? I also have

- There are horizontal slots in the vertical riser at the end of that area, but I believe you are describing some holes made for hood pins, rather than fix that latch adjustment properly, or to hold on

- Chris, sounds like someone put hood pins at some time in the past. The person who did the pins in my car made a real mess, and it was fixed properly by the body man. Welded metal to fill in the holes
