The quickest way (your not going to like this) Remove engine and trans, undo nut on the back of the cable, undo cable stop at bonnet, pull cable through panel. Note, this is the quickest way. Option

You said that right. Still going through that on a 69 Sprite. But something I ran into was that the replacement knob (T handled) has a larger diameter stock than the one I removed. Should I go ahead
