I just fixed this on my Bugeye recently. That loop of spring needs to contact a small patch of metal on the side of the little cavity the push fits in. On my car that patch of metal was either corrod

If the steering wheel is painted all nice a pretty, the spring clip can't make a ground on the edge of the steering wheel hub. And/or same with the steering column. Newly painted columns need a clean
