Hey MG folks, How necessary is the "anti-flash cover" in a 1978 MGB distributor? I believe the distributor is the original (electronic) piece. When I did a tuneup last weekend, I found that there was

More likely blow the electronics under where it should be, I've always assumed, and as such pretty major and sudden :o) OTOH maybe 'flash' refers to light from the spark jumping from rotor to cap con
