I ran the radio memory wire through an existing hole in the firewall, and up to the fusebox. One terminal was open (where the brown wires attach) that is always hot. My memory wire had an inline fuse

Before you cut the center support, consider the cost of replacing it. ~$300 now. You can probably find one in a junk yard that has already been buggered up, or you can put the radio someplace else.
