I am not sure which is concours. On the cars I have seen the gap is as little as 0 or as much as 1 inch. There has been some discussion on this before. Theory is that if there is a gap then hot air

Leave a small gap and then take a small diameter piece of tubing and split it down one side and slide it on the shroud edge closest to the radiator to make up the gap. Can remove tubing easily if you
