And on that all time favourite of Rob's (the Morris Marina) it says 85lb. So how do we now that the MGB is reliable at 180lb and not a mis-print for 80lb and which type of MGB axle? Daniel1312 << In

I think you are looking at the wrong piece. The front hub nuts are from 25 to 65 ft/lb, heck the lug nuts are tighter than the specs you quote at 45 ft/lb. I looked in 6 M/M manuals and found no spec

The hub nuts are keyed with a heavy cotter pin, so they're not going to come off anyway. It shouldn't matter whether they're at 40lbs. or 140lbs. Bob
