I have found out just recently that Dover Elevator company (who now own Wiseco and JE Pistons) just bought Carrillo Industries. As of Feb 1 the prices of Carrillo rods will go up about $45.00 a rod.

When I was looking into doing a Supercharger on a Spit 1300 I found that there were several alternative companies that still make rods (and pistons) for these older engines a lot cheaper than Carillo

Yes, BUT..... If you can buy equally as good rods from another source for $150 each, isn't that a much better alternative? I can get a rebuildable block for about $50! Joe

The Lotus boys swear by Cunningham rods and Performance Research Industries at PRIRACE.com have a good rod for the small Triumphs. I can see that the next time I lose a rod bearing some Spitfire race
