- Is it possible to positively determine if a engine is a 260 or a 289 without pulling a head? My book on Ford engines has conflicting information. The casting number is: C40E-6015F. I can't find any n

- According to Tom Monroe's How to rebuild the SBF, A C4OE-F block is a 63-64 289 block with a 5 bolt bell housing. The 260 is C4OE- B,-D,or-E among others. Erich without except looking?

- My Good Dr That only proves that the engine has 269 heads. Measuring the boring provides definitive proof. While a micrometer can be used a yard stick will work. If the bore is 3 3/4 its a 260. If it
