Hi all, My latest dilemma started out as an ignition timing problem. The ignition is a Mallory Dual point, so I no longer have the vernier scale as on the stock distributor. I've marked the crank pul

Rupert, with respect ... that's crazy. Even with a stock cam, the idle timing is nowhere near "max revs", because cylinder pressures are way down which slows down the flame front. To put it another

How many of us are honest enough to admit that they use the distributor to help adjust the idle speed when all else fails? I've spent much time adjusting the timing just so with lamp and markings and

My GT6 with the user-installed (not by me) SU's idles anywhere from 900 to 1500. It depends on how much sleep it had the night before, I think. -- Jim Muller jimmuller@pop.rcn.com '80 Spitfire, '70 G

I hooked up an electric tach and it read the same as the '3s but I found the '3s to be much more sensitive to rpm fluctuations. The spitfire on the other hand, was reading 1000rpm on the dash, hooke
