My ignition switch is pretty cranky too. Now...Is it possible to lubricate it with something? I see there is a note in the manual saying DO NOT LUBRICATE THE STEERING LOCK, but does anyone know why?

You shouldn't *oil* key-operated locks of any kind as it gums up the works and makes things worse, but powdered graphite should be fine and is made for the job. If you are tight like me you can scrap

You can get small tubes of graphite from a hobby or craft store in the PineCar area. Used for pinewood derby car wheels. They're a couple bucks. Craft stores don't have a lot of Pinecar stuff until a

For the three years I've owned my 74 1/2' the ignition hasn't been quite right. Sometimes it'd travel too far forward so the starter wouldn't disengage, and sometimes the key wouldn't go all the way
