Like many other 'go-faster' bits they add little if anything to a generally factory spec car in good condition other than cost and the opportunity for a bit of bar-room bragging. Where they *can* mak

Paul, I agree that this works, but I have always thought that the reason was a little different: I assume that the spark plug leads are a little dirty and will leak some current (energy), before the

MSD manufactures a 'multi-spark' device see <http://www.msdignition.com>www.msdignition.com and I wonder at its worth. I once read a piece which said that high voltage coils (big sparks, multiple spa

The concept behind twin plugs is not to achieve multiple sparks, but to avoid misfires (odds are one of the two will fire). As far as multiple sparks, well, I agree that one is enough. -- Max Heim '6

I think it's generally accepted that the higher compression ratio,, the hotter the spark must be to ignite the mixture. Don't remember if I've ever seen any Dyno tests supporting this theory. CR

MSD street (6 series) ignitions fire multiple sparks through 20 degrees up to 3000 rpm. After 3000 rpm they throw a single massive spark. It works, I've used them on a couple of my street pounders. J

I've sold spark plugs for over 20 years and am always taken aback by the "hotter spark". What exactly do you mean? A spark plug is designed to work within a specific heat range for that specific engi
