- This sounds like the polarity of the car has just been changed. If it has or has not, still repolarize the regulator. Do it by taking a wire and holding one end to the hot side of your battery and BR

- I still say it's a bad ground. is the 71 voltage regulator the same as say a '62? If so... Take a look at your wiring diagram. I believe the top most terminal should be connected to ground. measure f
