I recently got the IR 2131 from HF through their Inside Track deal for $159. Really good price for a DAMN good gun. The only problem I have with it? Too powerful. It's my first and only air tool (sti

I just received the HF Half Price catalog the other day and it shows the 2131 for $179.99 on page 23 with free shipping. Are the torque and speed of the 2131 adjustable with a knob or just by the tri

Anything in HF over $50 is free shipping. That's why I always make sure my orders are more than $50... not too difficult! As for torque and speed, there are two adjustments. There is a knob in the ba

Does one need to use impact sockets with an air ratchet? Why do we not have just impact sockets to use with hand tools, instead of having two sets of every size socket, both normal and deep? Are Harb

Chris, I mostly agree - power is nice, especially if you are in a hurry, but compactness is nice too. I have a Campbell-Hausfeld 3/8 ratchet (their old "Pro" series before they started calling it "ex

I buy the cheapest 3/8 air ratchet I can find, usually when Harbor Freight has a sale. They last just as long and work just as well as the high-price spread when you keep them oiled. I'm using a Cent

You need to use impact sockets with an air ratchet because chrome sockets will wear out the square drive *very* fast. Chrome sockets are a lot harder than impact: the wear rate is even worse with 3/8

No experience with the IR ratchet but the Harbor Freight $30 dollar one works just fine. It has 50 lbs of torque and you can use it has a hand ratchet to get the nut loose. I find this tool a real ti

A tip on Harbor Freight, what the catalog says is not necessarly the lowest price. They send many catalogs out at the same time and they all have different prices. The best thing to do is to hold ont

The HF impact sockets are very good (IMHO)If you break one, and I did recently but that is another story, all you do is call them and they send you one out for free.If they can't find proof that you

I have a set of 3/4" Pittsburgh impact sockets which I use occasionally for large tractor pieces which have held up well and which seem to be quite bulletproof. However, I bought a set of 1/2" deep m

Well, that's great to hear, because I plan on getting a 1/4" drive ratchet as well. I think the following are necessary: 1/2" drive high-power impact gun (already have my 2131) 3/8" air ratchet (gene
