I just read the Chicagoland carb conversion adventure again. And it leaves me with a question. Do I need to use any gasket 'goo' for the gaskets (manifolds to head and heatshield, spacer, carb)? --

I used the blue stuff when I rebuilt the HS's for the 67, can't remember the name right now but it doesn't set up so can be removed. I have had no leaks (but it is messy). Monte -- Original Message

Hylomar HPF gasket dressing...Permatex makes it in the USA. Good stuff for float bowl gaskets, valve cover gaskets, etc., but I've not used it for manifold gaskets myself, so I can't vouch for it in
