This is a little hard for me to explain, but here goes. I have the original intake manifold off and am in the middle of installing an Edelbrock F4B. Valve covers are off. Looking down at the cylinder

These are the "heat riser" openings that allow exhaust gases to circulate under the plenum chamber. Heating the plenum improves gas/air mixing and speeds warmup of the engine. If you are more intere

That's correct. this is part of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system. On the Tigers, and other cars of that period, it was used mostly to just heat the Intake manifold as described below by Bob

Use the gasket that is for the HiPo 289 from Felpro, it has larger intake holes and the correct size and shape holes for the water passages. Take the gaskets that you have and lay them in place on t

My technique for installing the cork "dogleg" gaskets is to glue them to the block using contact cement. The idea is to have them stay put while you install the manifold. I've never had a problem do

If you use the cork doglegs DO NOT USE RTV. The cork will not get enough oil on it to swell and seal. Then it will squirt out with the slightest pressure. I have had good luck with either choice but

I'm not sure why you would have too much gap for the cork gaskets. Sounds like the intake is also not aligned with the head if this is the case. If you milled the block and/or heads, I think it woul
