I'm looking to add OD to my '78B, having been so encouraged by everyone I've asked. However, I've become aware of a 5-speed conversion kit for the B. It's considerably more expensive than the OD, tho

I don't see the benefit of a 5-speed, unless it was significantly cheaper and/or easier to install (not the case). The 5th gear is almost always an overdrive ratio, so the net effect is the same. And

Cost is the primary driver, but so is gear ratio. The OD is 0.8 or 0.82, while several 5 speeds (but not the majority) simply have the close ratios in 2&3, and a 1.0:1 5th gear (my porsche for exampl

Hi Tab, My '79 Nissan PU has one of the 5-speed trannies that have been swapped into V-8 Bs. I also had a 260Z that had the same tranny. The 5th gear is an OD ratio around 0.8:1. I've also had 2 Bs t

Hi Guys The OD or 5 speed question is a difficult one. I am in the business of providing both, so I kind of have a foot in both camps here. This is not a commercial, nor is it meant to be, but If you

Years ago I had a Rambler and then an Ambassidor both with three on a tree and OD. I don't know how the OD functions in a B but in these cars I was able to: 1) Use 2nd OD instead of third and elimin
