Wow, Steve, so sorry to see what happenned. Luckily you are okay. When my B went up like that many moons ago I had melted insulation dripping down on my legs as a was pulling over and trying to stop.

Barney made some very interesting points about brake fluid but might have missed one item. If a brake line or hose developed a small hole, the fluid will coming out will be atomized very effectively

I agree, definately the fire was mostly on the distrib side from the pictures. I'm thinking maybe it was an electrical fire though, they can burn very hot, and if the brake fluid running through the
