I absolutely *love* the XJS, and I almost had one. Until my mechanic warned me otherwise. Remember, in the 80s, Jaguar was built by BL -- which suffered horrid build quality. Immense quality control

Hey- I've got three MGs and just bought an XJ-S too. What to look for: Any signs of overheating, ever. That includes clean spots near the overflow tank where hot coolant could have washed the inside
