Could I (or you for that matter) increase power output by hooking an oxygen cylinder to my inlet/carbs and enrichening (sp?) the mixture? The fuel is burnt with oxygen so why not just feed it oxygen

Pumping in pure oxygen probably would be....dangerous, but I'm thinking more supplementing the O2 supply. Adding ,say, the amount of oxygen that would be in the 'extra' air supplied by a forced induc

yeah, but why not just O2. My understanding is that nitrous is good for short bursts only, lest your engine melts. Im thinking of a 'permanent' setup and when your oxy bottle is empty you just lean

Nitrous oxide injection. A drop of oil in pure oxygen will send you into the next hemisphere. == Ron Soave "You Are What You Remember" 1960 Bugeye 1972 BGT

That would be the idea behind Nitrous Oxide. (NOS) Could I (or you for that matter) increase power output by hooking an oxygen cylinder to my inlet/carbs and enrichening (sp?) the mixture? The fuel i

How 'bout an OBOGS ("on board oxygen generating system") like on aircraft? A little swing adsorbtion module, a molecular sieve... ** Again, O2 + impurity = BOOM! ** (tell them about the training film

Of course, if you did use an O2 source, it would have to be carefully so that the %O2 would remain constant independent of temp, barometric pressure/air density, flow velocity etc since you'd have to
