I think I get a hotter spark from the Crane ignition I put in. I don't know if easier cold starts in Davis (~40F) mean anything compared to Jersey, but it works for me. Regards, Glen Byrns

Hotter/Colder plugs refer to heat range and deals with heat dissipation; having virtually nothing to do with cold starts. Check the spark, ensure good quantity and color. Check wetness (or dryness)
