Before you go crazy replacing the shifter rod seals, make sure that the tranny can vent properly... if the vent hole is plugged, the tranny will push oil out of the strangest places. Just something

Maybe weak threads, but the threads that were left further in were plenty strong...longer bolt to the rescue...took plenty of torque too! I'm in the middle of fitting a J-Type tranny to a TR250 frame
