The head is aluminum.....I don't think steel shot would never be used on aluminum?? I have never even sand blasted the head I am convinced that that it was ingested through the throttle bodies Thank

I think what you're seeing are intentional- dimples made with a center punch. These were probably made to generate a bit of turbulence within the squish area of the combustion chamber. I don't think
