Mine fits like that too. I used black strip caulking to seal between the w/s gasket and frame. Looks OK. BTW, there wasn't any shim, at least on the 3 w/s frames I dismantled. Mike /// datsun-roadst

Thanks for responding. To do it proper, there HAS to be a shim, probably in between the glass itself and the rubber. here's Why I am saying this. the rubber has a lip that is supposed fits snug up to
