My autocrosser has the Carreras with the adjustable perch.... The previous owner also passed along a pair of front springs... 8 turn x 410lb that appear (by eye) 1-2" shorter than the stock Spitfire

You tie wrap them to the top perch. Seriously. Get the real comp springs, or have a set wound for you. MJB knows which ones are right. I bought a set that were too stiff for the spit, but work great

The limiting factor here is the the bump stops or, at worst, the compressed springs, not the shock. If you bottom out the shock before anything else you will damage it. Also keep in mind that the top

I had envisioned the top mount being a small hole the size of the top mounting rod of the shock. The stock bushings would then be used to secure it. Using the same springs as before, this relocation

Scratch that last thought! I now realize that in order to accomplish any amount of lowering, the spring perch will need to be raised as well as the top shock mount... Back to the drawing board!! Joe

Until the top of the shock bottoms out on your mount...Or preferably the bump stops. When you do such a thing, you are cutting down on the limits of travel. Bit a big deal on the race track, but it c

Next time you are looking at the front towers on a Spit, imagine a line that goes through the bolts holding the inner upper A arms to the towers. Notice how close the shock's top pivot point is to th
