You can either remove the door from the hinge - and have a _lot_ of trouble realigning them back to the proper level, or you can remove the hinges from the body. On my 79B I removed the right side hi

In addition to the four bolts there is an nut on a stud behind the fender splash. I don't think so. The way I've allways done this is to remove the door pannel and take out the four posidrive screws

What is the best way to loosen the four (posidrive? phillips? head) bolts which hold the door hinges to the body on an MGB? Is this the proper way to remove the doors or should I be trying to remove

You are removing it correctly. Use phillips tips, and the only success I have had is with an impact driver. I used the hammer type for years. Now I use an air impact that accepts the hex tips. Ernest
