- Today I spotted a 1974 MGBT in a car lot, stopped to look. It is complete, but way over priced when the rust is considered. I have a question for the list about engine numbers. The VIN is GHD5UE36006

- Yes. What your eyes interpreted as "18CK" was probably "18GK", which puts it sometime around '70-'71 I think. "H" means high compression, which is right for an 18Gx engine. I don't remember what "WE"

- I would guess that the engine number is really 18GK not 18CK which would make it from a 1971.
