All things are relative. In my experience, MGs are about as reliable as any other car of their respective ages. They are much easier to work on than many other cars. As for their use as daily drivers

make the My MGC would do quite well if regular servicing/checking was not included. However, I must do daily checking as the car burns just a "wee" bit of oil most time intensive daily runner award :
