- the best guideline is don't do it. since no one knows the metallurgy, where are fractures?, etc. grinding away on a piece of steel that is spinning 7000 rpm beside your foot is not a real great move.

- My best advice, having witnessed flywheel explosions twice, is to remove the flywheel from the end of the crank, place it in the "save in case I put it back on the street" pile, and get an aluminium
