- The actual timing of each cylinder is dependent on the distributor cam, under the rotor, unless you have converted to electronic ignition. I once had an optronic ignition blade begin to break off, so

- Hi listers, Thanks to all that replied. I've bought a timing light, and after some experimenting, the problem was a bit of play on the distributor shaft. The distributor is currently being rebushed.
