suggestions? Replace the timing cover seal. Unfortunately, this means you have to remove the crankshaft pulley, which is generally easier if you remove the radiator first. All MGA's except the late 1

On mine, both the plate and the lamp mount to the same large bracket, which is mounted to the bumper with two bolts. Can't guarantee its originality though. Len Bugel '51 TD '57 MGA

The leaky timing cover seal is easily fixed using a method I learned from fellow listers. Get a MGB timing chain cover, which takes a real oil seal (rather than the felt on in the MGA). You will also

front seal. The late MK-II had a different timing cover with a rubber seal. oil thrower, so if you are changing to this particular cover, you don't have to change the oil thrower. Also note that the

Sorry, I do not have the Moss numbers for the timing cover and oil thrower...I do not have a MGB catalog either. I got my cover and thrower out of the MGB engine I removed from my MGA... Joe Ratigan
