- I had the same problem. I broke an axle. I put in a MGB rear differential unit and axles into my MGA housing, something I wanted to do anyway for the different ratio. I donated my remaining good axle

- A half shaft swap on its own is easy enough - but with a broken axle surely the broken stub needs to be removed, any swarf inside the diff/housing needs cleaning, which at least involves draining the
