The gearbox he used was the 5-speed variety, obviously to obtain the 5th gear o/d ratio of .8:1. Eric Swanger

The guy didn't have an o/d gearbox in his B, just the standard 4-speed. He either didn't have access to an o/d box, didn't like the LH style o/d, or just wanted to do something a little different. I

You've got to rememeber that o/d boxes were a seldom ordered option here in the US. Based upon the cars I've owned (quite a few) I would estimate that o/d were installed in approximately 20% of the
