The conversion involves using an adapter or replacement hub to mount a Spitfire rotor then using a MGB caliper which bolts on in place of the Sprite caliper. It is available form Mini-Mania and The W

If you have a Spridget with front disc brakes, the hot set-up is to convert to MGB rotors with Triumph Spitfire calipers. Basically puts a bigger swept area on the front brakes, for more effective b

The "Big Brake Conversion" is not exactly a "bolt on" operation. The MGB calipers require some modification, although you can get pre-modified ones from Mini Mania for a little more money. The conve

When I spoke with the folks at Winner's Circle, I got the impression that their kit was pretty much a "bolt on". However, y'all have obviously defer to your experience. Thanks for the clarification,

You can read the installation instructions on the Mini Mania web page. At least the MM kit takes some tweaking. I can't wait for Larry to get his car together and tell us what he thinks of the brake

I don't see anyway that the Winner's Circle adapter could place the rotor anywhere other than where the original rotor was, I.E. at the back of the hub. The calipers mount in the same place as the S

Big brakes are maybe not what you need- as you might already suspect. I agree that there are plenty of things one should try first, e.g. braided lines and good Hawk brake pads for low temp applicati

Since it needs a spacer, I assume that this makes the front track wider than stock - correct? If so, how much wider? I also assume from the description that you use stock uprights and hubs. Any idea

The MGB caliper is not much heavier than the Spridget caliper but the Spitfire rotor is. I don't have a scale so can't tell you exactly how much. Maybe a pound or two. I'm using a stock type stub ax

The adapter acts as a spacer to the rotor only it bolts to the BACK of the hub. The Spit rotor is pretty shallow and the Sprite is deep so the adapter just positions the Spit rotor about where the S
