I have some questions about aerodynamics. Roadsters, no top Roadsters, convertible Roadsters, hardtop GT coupes At what general speed does the aerodynamic shape of a car become a significant factor?

My guess, with a limited knowledge of areodynamics: Worst - that wind screen acts as a big spoiler and creates a lot of turbulence behind it. Better, the flow goes over the whole car and does not ha

When I run my my '69 B roadster at 60+ mph with the top up, the ceiling fabric rises above the top bows. I presume that there is positive pressure inside the car and the top is balooning. Or, to put

I'm not sure the hood is "capturing" air, nor that unzipping the rear window will help that problem, at least not by "letting it out". I think Mr. Boyle and our old friend the aerofoil can explain, b

I believe drag increases exponentially in regards to speed (but don't take an art major's word for it), so it becomes an increasingly more important factor at higher speeds (I'm sure you knew that).

Well, actually it's just the reverse. The soft top is curved (looking at it from the side..) like a wing. The air moveing over the top is accelerated, which causes a drop in pressure in the area abov

Yes, you have to find the 'right' cap to wear. Some just don't sit far enough down on your head to hold securely - there is nothing worse than having to keep 'catching' your cap as it is just a bout
