- When I close down the bonnet (and it is not fouling anything) I sometimes can open it with the pull cable - but not always. But after a few goes it will NOT lock down. The catch (pulled by a spring)

- The catch can be adjusted. If you look at it has a slot cut on the point for a screwdriver. Back off the lock nut at the bottom of the spring.. Adjust it in or out till it closes easily and tighten t

- Is the cable and latch fully operating and releasing? Watch it with the bonnet up while someone else pulls and releases the handle. Just sounds like stiction to me, from either a dry or damaged cable
