My car, a 1969 GT, was equipped with an aluminum bonnet, but I don't know the exact year that they began using steel instead. Bill Schooler

It's my understanding that the GT had a alloy bonnet a few years longer than the Roadster. I believe at least until 72. I'm at work now but will look it up at home.

My 1969 had an aluminum bonnet, but alas; had to replace it and bought a steel one.

Remember yesterday I said Id crack it???? - well I havnt, .....however the ref in the Vicky Brit catalogue says that aluminium was discontinued in late 69 for MGBs and went on into early 71 for BGTs

Mike, I had an early '70 MGB Roadster (GHN5UA193924G) which had a factory aluminum bonnet. Build date was very late '69. One more clue. Bruce '74 MGB Rdstr
