- Only three reasons to use 'em... or have had them installed. (that I know of) 1) A shaved head.... raising the pedestals to correct the rocker geometry 2) and when the top of the head is not level. 3

- It's to take up a multitude of manufacturing tolerances. Two shims for the 2nd and 3rd pedestals only. This applies a preload (very slight bend) to the rocker shaft to make it secure in the bores of
